A Playoff Atmosphere That Felt Different
Making the drive out to Katy ISD’s Legacy Stadium, you could feel something special brewing. This wasn’t just another Friday night in Texas — this was an undefeated 13–0 Randle squad meeting a 12–1 Iowa Colony team hungry for revenge. With their history and everything on the line, this rematch already felt historic before kickoff.
Both teams opened with possessions that showed just how prepared their defenses were. Iowa Colony got a boost from a roughing-the-kicker penalty but couldn’t turn it into points as Junior QB Carson White was dropped for a sack. Randle went for it on fourth down deep in Pioneer territory but came up short. Iowa Colony closed the opening stretch by converting their own fourth down as White scrambled for a tough five yards, setting the tone.

Momentum Swings and the First Breakthrough
Early in the next stretch of play, White tested Randle deep, looking for Senior WR Jayden Warren, but the Lions came up with a huge interception in the end zone. Randle returned the favor not long after, throwing a pick that set Iowa Colony up at the 15-yard line.
White made it count — taking the ball in himself for the game’s first score and a 7–0 Pioneer lead.
Randle answered immediately.
Senior QB Tyler Skrabanek launched a 60-yard bomb to Cedrick McClintock, setting up Junior ATH Landon Williams-Callis for the tying touchdown. Moments later, Williams-Callis added another rushing score, pushing Randle ahead 14–7, and Senior kicker Raul Vega extended the lead to 17–7 with a late field goal.
Iowa Colony’s Answer and a Game That Turned Wild
Whatever adjustments Iowa Colony made, they came out firing.
Senior RB Aaron Tenner broke free quickly for a touchdown, cutting Randle’s lead to 17–14. Then came a monster moment when Senior CB Darren Brown jumped a route for a pick-six, flipping the scoreboard and electrifying the Pioneer sideline. Just like that — Iowa Colony led 21–17. But the back-and-forth had only begun. Randle leaned again on their workhorse. Williams-Callis powered in another touchdown to regain the lead 24–21. Iowa Colony kept punching and eventually went ahead 31–28, creating a tense, heavy atmosphere inside the stadium as the game moved toward the finish.
Big Plays, High Stakes, and a Finish to Remember
Randle answered with a long, grinding drive that ended in another touchdown to take a 39–28 lead with just over five minutes left.Iowa Colony wasn’t done. White connected with Warren deep for what looked like a huge touchdown — but it was called back on a holding penalty. Instead of letting that break them, they ran it right back, and this time the connection stood. Warren hauled in the score that made it 39–35, and Legacy Stadium felt like it was shaking. Iowa Colony’s defense then delivered a massive four-and-out stop, giving their offense a real chance at the comeback. But penalties stalled the drive, and a costly fumble gave the ball back to Randle in a heartbreak moment for the Pioneers.
From there, the Lions leaned on the one player who had controlled the night from start to finish.
Landon Williams-Callis broke free again, ripping off another long touchdown run that sealed the win and the Lions’ fourth straight victory over Iowa Colony — eliminating them in the Regional Final for the second year in a row.

A Classic Rivalry Chapter Written in Real Time
This game was a showcase of everything Texas high school football represents — intensity, big plays, comebacks, and stars stepping up under pressure. Williams-Callis finished with over 200 rushing yards and five touchdowns, one of the biggest regional championship performances in recent memory. Skrabanek threw for over 320 yards, McClintock and Ashton Johnson made crucial catches, and Randle’s offense delivered in every big moment they needed.
Iowa Colony wasn’t far behind.
Tenner ran for 127 yards and two touchdowns, White added 98 rushing yards plus 145 through the air, and Warren put up 96 receiving yards and a score, even after a touchdown was wiped out by penalty.
Two programs. One stadium. One unforgettable playoff battle.
