Shadow Creek Comes Out Strong
November 14, 2025, marked the start of the second half of the high school football season, and emotions were running high. Shadow Creek (Pearland, TX) squared off against Fort Bend Bush (Richmond, TX) in a neutral playoff matchup. From the opening kickoff, Shadow Creek’s body language showed exactly what we’ve come to expect: confident, composed, and ready to dominate.
Fort Bend Bush came out trying to set the tone, but there just wasn’t the energy or buzz to match the Sharks’ intensity. It quickly became clear that this game was going to tilt heavily in Shadow Creek’s favor.
Dominance from Start to Finish
Right out of the gate, Shadow Creek pressed its dominance. By halftime, the scoreboard read 51-6, and there were no signs of letting up. The offense moved the ball efficiently, and the defense kept Fort Bend Bush on their heels the entire night. Junior quarterback Davis Coleman went 7-for-10 passing for 158 yards, keeping the Broncos guessing and consistently moving the chains. Freshman BJ LaFell added 99 rushing yards on just 5 carries, scoring twice, mostly in the second half, showing that the Sharks have talent even waiting in the wings.
Junior running back Triston Willis led the ground attack with 76 yards on 10 carries, while Javier Pace added 45 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 5 carries. The air attack was solid across the board, with sophomore receiver Jaylen Addai leading all scorers with 3 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Bush struggled to get anything going, finishing with 151 passing yards and only 23 yards rushing. Shadow Creek’s balance and athleticism proved too much for the Broncos, and the outcome was never really in doubt.

Looking Ahead
Shadow Creek moves on to Week 2 of the 2025 Texas UIL State Championship run. As I’ve said many times before, Shadow Creek typically wins the games they’re supposed to win—they have the athleticism, the talent, and the depth to go all the way. The challenge will come when they face teams that force them to rely on fundamentals instead of just athleticism and big plays. For now, though, the Sharks have sent a strong message: they’re ready, they’re dominant, and the road to the state championship continues.
