Sharks Stay Hungry in Big Win

On October 30, 2025, at Freedom Field, the Shadow Creek Sharks did what they’re built to do — handle business. They took care of South Houston 62–7, and honestly, from the pregame warmups, you could feel where this one was headed. South Houston showed up ready to play, but it’s a tall order trying to knock off the top dogs in the district.

You could see early that Shadow Creek wasn’t overlooking anybody — they were locked in. The body language, the energy, the focus… it all said one thing: let’s go to work.

Coleman Leads, LaFelle Gets His Moment

Junior quarterback Tavis Coleman had full control of the offense again, making smart reads and spreading the ball around to his playmakers. He had the Sharks rolling, and then in the third quarter, the coaches gave freshman quarterback B.J. LaFelle some live reps — and he didn’t disappoint. The young man came in confident and made the most of it, tossing his first varsity touchdown under the lights.

That’s big — not just for him, but for the future of the program. It says a lot about what’s coming next for Shadow Creek.

The Sharks had multiple receivers find the end zone, and junior running back Tristan Willis kept the balance with a score on the ground. It wasn’t just one guy — it was the entire unit executing across the board.

When Games Like This Matter More Than the Score

Games like these are about more than the scoreboard. At this point in the season, the focus shifts to reps, rhythm, and staying healthy heading into the playoffs. You want to keep that sharpness, keep your execution tight, and still find ways to compete even when the score’s out of hand.

You could tell the coaches were using this one to fine-tune things, and it worked. The young guys got in, and you could see the confidence building all the way through the roster.

The Playoff Push Is On

The Sharks move on from this one with another dominant win, and they look ready for the challenges that lie ahead. Every week is about stacking good habits and getting better at the small details — because once the playoffs start, everybody’s fast, everybody’s physical.

Shadow Creek has the talent. The question will be how well they can keep bringing that same intensity and balance when the lights get even brighter.

For now, though, they’re exactly where they need to be.
