Hosted by Houston Christian High School within the hallowed halls of the Southwest Preparatory Conference, this tournament showcased the prowess of elite private high school varsity teams from across Texas.

The Mustang Classic Basketball Tournament brought together a formidable lineup of high school teams from across the great state of Texas, creating a melting pot of talent, skill, and sportsmanship. Hailing from diverse regions, powerhouse schools such as Houston Christian, St. Francis Episcopal, The Village School, PSAT, Ft Worth Christian Academy, Ft Bend Christian Academy, Woodlands Christian, Empowering Others, Lutheran South, John Cooper, Second Baptist, Concordia Lutheran, ILTX, Liberty Christian, St Pius X, and CHSA converged on the court, each team carrying the pride of their respective communities. This dynamic mix of schools not only showcased the rich basketball culture in Texas but also underscored the collective pursuit of excellence and the love for the game of basketball among high schools across the state.

Houston Christian's Hoops Showdown
On Dec 2, 2023, the Houston Christian Varsity Boys faced off against St. Francis Episcopal in the Mustang Classic Championship Game. Battling fiercely, the scoreboard read 50-70 – a tough, yet commendable effort by Houston Christian. This chapter in the tournament’s history echoes the grit and caliber of teams at the Mustang Classic.
